Answers to some of the more common question we receive!

At TasteMalta Bakery we are often asked some of the following questions in regards to our products.  This area of our site will be used to help address some of the most common inquiries received.

We have separated this area into three sections – Shipping, Products and Company.

Answers to common shipping questions

How and when are the products shipped?

Most of our products, like our Pastizzi, are shipped frozen using dry ice and special shipping containers.

We ship primarily on Mondays and Tuesdays. We try to avoid weekends as shippers advise that weekends could possibly be challenging for frozen or refrigerated goods. However, if agreed with us beforehand by e-mail or telephone we can try to make exceptions if there is any special occasion you need to accommodate. We price our shipping on the day of the order and ship with the least expensive carrier for that day. We ship using FedEx, USP, USPS as well as 3rd party shipping companies for larger orders. We understand that shipping costs are outrageous, and we try daily to find the best rate possible.

TasteMalta Bakery believes in recycling, so we offer our returning customers up to a $50.00 discount on future shipping when they simply return the shipping container when they are ready to put in their next order. This allows us to reuse your own container with your next order.

Before returning, please make sure to remove all of the original labels and ship it back to us. Please save yourself some money and ship it the least expensive method (remember to include insurance) to the following address.

Where do you ship your products?

We are making new fans all over the country! Right now, we’re shipping orders daily throughout the United States.

We try to ship all orders, especially frozen goods like our Pastizzi via 2-day or 3-day delivery. In certain cases, based upon location, this is however not possible. No need to worry, we always add 1 extra day of dry ice to all of our shipments based upon the delivery timeframe given to us. This ensures that your order arrives in perfect condition and ready for your oven or freezer.

Don’t fret, we’re working hard behind the scenes to make sure you get the best rate possible when you check-out!

Where do you ship your products from?

All our products are baked and shipped from Tampa Bay in Florida. TasteMalta Bakery specializes in traditional Maltese baked goods, made from scratch and baked in small batches using only the finest ingredients.

How do I place an order online for nationwide shipping?

We only accept nationwide shipping orders through our website , both for yourself or for someone else as a gift! You can view all products available for nationwide shipping here.

Can I place an order but ship to a different location?

Of course, you can! When checking out with your order, please ensure that the shipping address reflects the address where you would like the order to be delivered. Also, you can always leave a message on the special comment section of your order stating the Delivery address is different from the Billing address.

I live near Tampa Bay; can I still have products shipped?

Yes, of course we ship local, but if you would like to save the shipping cost, we do offer days and times that products can be picked up. Simply Contact Us and we can arrange a day and time to pick up your order.

Can I make changes to my online order before it ships?

As long as your order hasn’t shipped yet, we will do our best to accommodate any last-minute adjustments to your order.

Kindly reply to your order confirmation e-mail or Contact Us and let us know what is going on as soon as possible. Sometimes it might be easier to give us a call at 813-758-1030. We will try our best to accommodate changes, but we cannot guarantee that this will always be possible.

As a policy, all our products are sold as “final sale” and once they have been shipped, we are unable to make any changes to the order.

My order was delivered damaged. What do I do?

Your order was shipped with insurance for this very reason. Please contact the shipping provider to see what is required to file a claim.

If you need any additional documentation from us, please do not hesitate to contact us at Sales@TasteMalta.com. Please include your order number and the shipping details provided. We would also request pictures of both the outside and the inside of the shipping container as well as the product.

In cases like this we will require that you contact us through e-mail allowing for seamless communication without interpretation.

My order never arrived. What do I do?

Your order was shipped with insurance for this very reason. Please contact the shipping provider to see what is required to file a claim.

Will I know if my order has shipped?

You will receive an order confirmation e-mail when your order is placed and a shipping confirmation e-mail with tracking information when your order has shipped from our facility. Please ensure that your e-mail and contact information are correct at checkout to avoid any delay or disruption in your order communications.

Will I be able to track my online order?

We send a tracking information e-mail once your order has shipped, allowing it to be tracked online via the shipping carrier.

Please ensure that your e-mail and contact information were correct at checkout to avoid any delay or disruption in your tracking information communications. You can track your order online via the tracking information and through the carrier.

What is the cancellation policy after I order?

Shipped Orders:

All orders can be cancelled online in the account page within 30 minutes of placing the order. Any changes or cancellations after 30 minutes for a shipped order must be requested by e-mail, no later than 24hrs of the initially requested delivery date. Send your request to Sales@TasteMalta.com.

All other cancelations are handled on a case-by-case basis.

Local Pick-Up/Delivery Orders:

Local pick up may be cancelled up until 24 hours before the scheduled pick-up date and time. All orders can be cancelled online in the account page within 30 minutes of placing the order. To cancel a Pick-up/Delivery order, after the 30 minute grace period, please e-mail Sales@TasteMalta.com with the e-mail associated with your account and/or your order confirmation or call us at (813) 758-1030. A member of our team will be happy to assist you.

All other cancelations are handled on a case-by-case basis.

My online order is delayed, now what?

TasteMalta Bakery is not responsible for packages once they have left our facility and are with the carrier enroute to final destinations.

TasteMalta cannot anticipate or control carrier disruptions like inclement weather or package handling. Rest assured that your order is shipped with enough dry ice to handle an extra day in transit. This means that if we ship 2-day air, your order is shipped with enough dry ice to handle 3 days of shipping.

Can I include a gift note/message with my online order?

The simple answer is “Yes”. Please use the special message field when ordering to have a message added to your order. If we have any questions about your message, or are unable to add it for whatever reason, we will contact you.

What if I want to change the time to ship my order?

If you do not want your order to ship with our next shipping day, you would add the desired shipping date in the special comment section of our order form.

If for some reason a specific shipping date was not added to the order form, please contact us and if possible, we will try to accommodate the change.

Answers to common product questions

Do you have any vegan products?

We sure do! We offer some of our pastizzi in a vegan variety.

I have a food allergy; can I still eat products from TasteMalta Bakery?

We do not bake in an allergen-free environment. While we have some products that might not contain wheat, nuts or dairy – all of our products are baked in an environment where wheat, lupin, milk, peanuts, tree nuts, eggs and soy may be present in high volumes.

Due to the presence of these allergens at all of our baking facilities, we do not recommend consuming any of our products if you are allergic to wheat, lupin, nuts, dairy, eggs or any other food allergy.

Does TasteMalta Bakery offer any products that are Gluten-Free?

TasteMalta Bakery specializes in authentic Maltese pastizzi which contains gluten. While we are able to make a variety of gluten-free products, our core product is not gluten-free. Our sincere apologies!

All of our products are produced in facilities where gluten is present, so we do not recommend consuming products from TasteMalta Bakery if you are gluten-intolerant.

How do I find the ingredients in your products?

Most of our ingredient information can be found at the product level on our website. You may also e-mail us your questions at Sales@TasteMalta.com and a member of our team would be glad to assist you.

How should I store and handle my products?

Storage and handling instructions can be found within each product’s description online. TasteMalta Bakery baked goods are meant to be enjoyed as soon as possible and are prepared the old-fashioned way, without the use of preservatives or stabilizers.

We freeze our pastizzi individually so that they can be kept frozen, allowing you to take out just the required amount while leaving the rest in the freezer.

We recommend that your order of pastizzi be kept frozen until ready to bake. They can go from your freezer to an oven preheated to 450 degrees and baked between 35 and 40 minutes or until the filling is 165 degrees and the pastry has a nice golden color.

What is the minimum order required?

The minimum order, if shipping/delivery, for our pastizzi is 3 dozen. The dozens can be mixed but the minimum is still 3. The reason for the minimum is the cost of shipping. TasteMalta Bakery absorbs a portion of the shipping cost, therefore a minimum order is required to keep the costs affordable. For local pick-up the minimum is 1 dozen.

Answers to common Special Order questions

Can TasteMalta Bakery cater my next event?

Yes! We love working together to make your event as memorable and special as we can. Please click here to Contact Us telling us what you need for your event. Once we receive this order, a TasteMalta representative will contact you to further discuss your event.

Also, you can use our Special Order Request Form and give us a brief description of your events’ needs. Once we receive this special order request, a TasteMalta representative will contact you to further discuss your event. Kindly note that this is not an actual order, it is just a request for one. Orders are final when the balance due is paid.

You can also simply call us are (813) 758-1030 and we can discuss your event and your particular needs.

Does TasteMalta Bakery do custom orders?

Our team will work closely with you to create what you need as long as we feel we are capable. Please visit our Special Order Request Form in our store to submit your special request. Once we receive your request,  A TasteMalta representative will contact you in order to further discuss.

Does TasteMalta Bakery create wedding or other special cakes?

TasteMalta Bakery specializes in pastizzi and other street foods. We are able to offer a variety of cookies, cakes, cheesecakes and other delicious delights. We can also decorate Figolli for special occasions, however we do not feel comfortable in decorating a wedding or other special occasion cake. We apologize!

Does TasteMalta Bakery help setup a corporate gifting order?

Most certainly! If you’re interested in placing a bulk order for shipping and/or local pick-up or delivery, please Contact Us and a member of our team will be happy to assist you.

Answers to common company questions

I want to visit one of your bakeries. Where are you located?

TasteMalta Bakery is an online bakery. We do not have a store front to visit just yet. We are however more than happy to meet you if you are in the area and wish to pick-up orders!

Can I open a franchise?

We are not accepting franchise requests at this time. As we grow, we will examine this option more.

However, if this is something you are considering, do not fret, simply contact us to discuss how your ideas match our expansions plans!

Do you partner with other brands and companies?
